ABOUT THE ROLE

All aspects of our manufacturing process. Using available tools, jigs & equipment to build our products to the highest possible standard (none of our processes require you to work from drawings or need a degree!)

Helping out the team wherever possible - cross training.
Eliminate defects in the production line.
Maintain all equipment to the highest standard.
Welding (MIG) thin steel tubing.
Prepping products for powder coating (wiping the steel ready for spraying).
Spotting any defects and reporting them back to the relevant department.
Fitting products together to the highest standard.
Ensuring equipment and filters are cleaned as per rota.
Helping pick and pack spares orders ready for delivery.
Paperwork management.
Signing products off.
Loading vehicle runs.
A process engineer who looks to improve every process.
Keeping a safe and responsive work environment.
Quality control / attention to detail.
Focus and maintain workflow.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Have researched Lean Thinking, particularly Paul Akers 2 Second Lean

  • Have a desire to learn MIG welding

  • Have a desire to learn working in a paint shop or end of line quality control environment

  • Ensure quality is added with each process

  • Have comprehension of the operation and maintenance of a manufacturing environment and its equipment.

  • Understand and implement personal/company safety measures including using the correct PPE at all times

  • Communicate openly and in a professional and timely manner to keep all parties informed appropriately

  • Possess the ability to stay focused for long periods of time

  • Assemble all components with the help of power and hand tools

  • Be confident to speak up in daily company wide meetings

  • Be well presented with good dress and demeanour

  • You self educate in your personal time by reading books and watching relevant videos

What your average day will look like:

07:15 - Arrive at work.

07:20 - Clock in & prep for the day ahead.

07:30 - Morning production huddle - be prepared to ask & answer questions regarding production flow. Issues you had yesterday and how you have fixed them. Where you intended to get to with the workload.

07:45 - 3S, Clean, Chores & Improvement time.

08:15 - Disperse back to work and look to continuously improve the process.

09:30 - Kaizen Meeting. We teach and train our team for 30 mins. Be prepared to be called upon to answer questions relating to the teachings of the meeting.

10:00 - Break.

10:15 - Back to work.

13:00 - Lunch break.

13:30 - Afternoon production huddle. Be prepared to ask & answer questions regarding production flow. Where you intended to get to with the workload and any additional hours you may need to ensure workload is complete.

16:30 - End of day (providing no additional hours are required).

You will be on a 12 week probationary period where we will work closely with you and assess if you’re a cultural fit for us and us for you! Initially the starting rate is £13.00ph Once you have passed your probation you will receive a one off bonus for successfully completing your probation. Once your probation period has finished, you will be reviewed monthly on your character, where there is an opportunity to increase your hourly rate.
