Priscilla, Queen of the Desert! We're always glad to see our products doing their job quietly and reliably - but it's a particular treat when that job happens to be centre stage on a West End-calibre production.

This year we supplied a Knock Down 6 tread mobile safety step (KK06 ), finished in a custom black powder coat, for the 2026 UK and Ireland tour of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - The Musical. Based on the much-loved 1994 film, the show opened at the Palace Theatre in Manchester before travelling the length and breadth of the country to venues including Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, Cardiff, Nottingham, Belfast and more, wrapping up its run in July.

For a production of this scale, moving to a different theatre almost every week, equipment needs to be dependable, low-maintenance and quick to set up and strike which is exactly what our KK range is built for. Here, a simple finish change meant the step could work seamlessly into the set and lighting design rather than standing out under the show's dazzling costumes and spotlights.
